The royal house Bunyoro-Kitara's Danish representation seeks an English proofreader .
We are writing a book on the history of the Kingdom of Bunyoro-Kitaras. The Kingdom is a constitutional monarchy in Uganda and has a long and exciting history. Large parts of the Kingdom's history is written by English explorers 100-150 years ago, and we are now writing all these various works.
We therefore lack a proofreader for the book, which is in English. We imagine that you will get a chapter at a time, for reading. We hope for a good and constructive collaboration, and we hope you want more than just proofreading - if you have suggestions for a more vibrant language or would you like to completely rewrite a section, then you are more than welcome to it.
Send us an application where you tell about your English-speaking background, and let's talk about the work more closely - The work is done from home as virtual volunteering.
Work for a royal family? Really?
The Ugandan Royal Family Bunyoro-Kitara has a number of representations around the world, including in Denmark. These representatives are all volunteers, similar to an honorary consul, and are organized through the Ugandan Association of the Representatives of the Kingdom of Bunyoro-Kitara.
You do not get direct contact with the Royal Family, but with the Danish representative.
Depending on how involved you are in the work, you may be mentioned as an editor or co-author in the book. There is also the opportunity to continue as a fundraiser later if you have the desire.
If you have any questions for the job as a volunteer reviewer, don't hesitate to write to us.
