OpenSIND's Young Group is an offer for young people in the municipality of Odense, where we every Wednesday from 9 am 18 - 21 is open in our apartment on Jernbanegade.

The youth group is aimed at young people with mental illness or mental vulnerability and offers a safe community, with activities and events. We try to make room for everyone and create a community through an open mind, where the young-to-young relationship is in focus.

Your host role consists of arranging activities, ranging from cake baking, pool tournaments and to out-of-house activities. Every month, we define Wednesday activities and hosts so that young people know what to expect when they enter the door.

As a volunteer in OpenSIND we offer you;

  • Volunteer meetings every month.
  • Sparring with coordinator and the other volunteers.
  • Offer of supervision and teaching.
  • Professional presentations, common eating, and more.

In OpenSIND, it is also possible to become a volunteer follower, which is a direct young-to-young relationship that is matched by the coordinator. We are currently missing volunteer companions who have the courage to follow and support young people with mental vulnerability or social challenges to various sports activities, creative workshops or social communities - it is always easier to follow! As a follower you must be able to accommodate a person with a mental vulnerability or social challenge and be able to meet approx. once a week for 1-2 hours.

Would you like to make a difference?

Create value for other people?

And the courage to build a community and thereby break the loneliness of mentally vulnerable young people?

- Whether as a youth group or as a follower - or even both? It is up to you!

Or do you just want to hear more? Regardless, contact the coordinator or find us on facebook under "OpenSIND's Young Group".
