Why?

  • As an English partner, you make a big difference to a person with late brain damage for whom class education does not work.
  • You help him better master his work and increase his confidence.
  • You get experience with a citizen with late-brain damage
  • You get new experiences and experiences

Who should you train or play with?

The citizen is a man of 47 years with interest in computer, his scooter and volunteer. He has lots of walking-in-and-out and a good mood. English-language knowledge is at beginner level. His goal is to be able to answer the questions that English-speaking customers have in the store where he works. The conversations must either take place in the citizen's own home or a nearby quiet place. He lives in a community for residents with late brain damage in Aarhus V, where there are educational staff.

How is it going to happen?

As an English speaking partner you meet with the citizen an agreed place. Teaching / conversing about ½ hour. His brain damage means he gets tired faster than usual. Moreover, he is color-blind. If you use pictures to speak from, it is good if they are accompanied by a text in both Danish and English. It is important that you speak a good Danish language yourself. If you can introduce him to beginner English audio files, he can practice when he is alone, it is an advantage.

We expect that from you?

  • You are good at English, maybe you have English as a native language
  • You can set aside about ½ hour a week to converse / train with the citizen.
  • You are happy to learn from you and have educational understanding.
  • You are stable
  • You can take the initiative for a conversation and put someone else in the center
