'Randers aflastnings- og vågetjeneste' offer comfort and support for people who are dying as well as relieving the relatives both in care centers and in private homes.
You do not have to have the experience of the care sector or the like, just you are responsible and possess a certain amount of life experience. As a bedside volunteer, you do not participate in care tasks, you just have to be present, listening and caring.
The shifts are typically from 23:00 - 03:00 or from 03:00 - 07:00, and here during the quiet hours you can sit down with a book, your knitting or whatever you fancy. It is also conceivable that the dying person has need for a warm hand to hold or a small conversation.
If you would like to spend some volunteer hours at 'Randers aflastnings- og vågetjeneste', please contact us. You will then be invited to a meeting where you have the opportunity to talk about yourself and your reasons for wanting to be a bedside volunteer. Of course, we will also tell you about the assignment and our organisation.
If you lwould like to volunteer, you will be offered the opportunity to be followed by an experienced volunteer before you even take on the task. As a volunteer, you will of course be offered supervision and relevant trainings.
