Strong reading communities
The Reading Society is seeking new voluntary reading guides in Odense, who want to create meetings across social and cultural divisions and counter the loneliness of the elderly through strong reading communities.
As a voluntary reading guide, you will be trained in the method guided community reading and then reading guide for a reading group. In the program you will learn how to select literature and facilitate the shared reading experience. The reading group is a creative and literary space for discussions about literature and the personal experiences, thoughts and feelings that literature arouses in us.
As a reading guide you are interested in literature, a skilled facilitator and meet people with respect and at eye level. As a reading guide, you are supported by the association's reading guide program in your practice. This includes supervision, individual sparring and participation in networking meetings and fellowship with other reading guides.
Submit your application by Wednesday, 20.05. Conversations take place on 25.05. You must be able to attend the reading guide course on Monday, June 8, 15 and 22 at 9am to 4pm.
As a reading guide, you read weekly with your reading group during the daytime approx. 1.5 hours. We expect you to commit as a reading guide for a minimum of 1 year.
