The Mothers' Aid local association Fredericia is looking for activity volunteers
Local association activities typically consist of three types of activities:
"Adventure activities" where the local association arranges "experiences" for families with children who would otherwise not have access to such activity (due to financial or other reasons). An example could be an excursion to LEGOland.
In the summer of 2020, we have plans for a few smaller adventure activities, for example. an orientation race for the whole family.
"Support activities", where the local community provides "experiences" (but does not even participate) for families with children who would otherwise not have access to such an experience. A typical example is "The Rolling Cake Man" where we help families to be able to hold children's birthday.
"Social networking activities", where the local association organizes a number of similar activities where the local families with children, in addition to the experience itself, meet other families with children and thus start forming networks. An example could be "Nature and Family" trips into the local nature for groups of local families or the "Meal" where the families cook together.
As an activity volunteer, you both have the opportunity to help plan the activity, but you are also welcome to "just" join in on the day and help give the families a good experience.
The Mother's Aid is an organization in rapid development. The local association in Fredericia has been in existence since Nov. 2019 and are therefore only about to start organizing events. Our goal is to organize activities that create networks and improve the everyday lives of pregnant and child families in the municipality of Fredericia. In addition, the local association runs a children's clothing store with recycling for children, where the profits go to activities for the target group in the local area and to the Mothers' Aid nationwide counseling. In addition to the proceeds from the store, local activities are typically funded by donations from local foundations and lodges and financial grants from the municipality.
What does it take to be a volunteer - and what do you get out of it?
It does not require any special experience or educational background to be an activity volunteer with us. The most important thing is that you have a go-ahead, dedication, a smile and a desire to make a difference to a vulnerable group of people. Also, there is no requirement for how many hours a month you should be able to attend; The need will vary greatly depending on the activities we are engaged in.
In return for your time and commitment, you are allowed to make a difference! You will be part of a wonderful community of other volunteers and you will be invited to various "Volunteers" during the year.
Would you like to hear more then send an email and tell us a little about yourself.
