What is the job about?

  • Guide vulnerable children and young people up to the age of 17 into the association that suits them exactly
  • Make home visits to the family, where together you will find the right association
  • Contact the association and arrange a trial lesson
  • Follow the child to the association the first 3 times
  • Have regular contact with parents as long as you follow the child
  • After 1 month, you must follow up with the association and family on how it is going and act accordingly
  • The job as a bridge builder is voluntary and therefore unpaid.

What do you become a part of? Who are we?

You will be a volunteer bridge builder in the project Associations For All 2.0 under DGI Storstrømmen. You will work closely with the project's bridge building coordinator and become part of a volunteer group based in Næstved. The project is a collaboration between Næstved Municipality, DGI Storstrømmen and BROEN Næstved which supports with contingent and equipment. The common purpose of the project is to help vulnerable children and young people up to the age of 17 into local associations such as football, scouts and music.

  • You want to make a difference for children and young people in their everyday lives
  • You are reliable, committed and responsible

What do we expect?

  • That you can guide about 2 courses per month, corresponding to 2 children
  • That you are interested in guiding children and young people into associations
  • That you will be an important role in the child's life when the process is ongoing
  • That you want to take on the role of bridge builder between family and association
  • Before you start working as a bridge builder, you fill out a Child Certificate
  • That you participate in joint meetings and events with the other bridge builders and the bridge building coordinator locally and by appointment
  • That you can basically commit to 12 hours of volunteer work per month for min. Six months, preferably longer

What do you get out of it?

By becoming a volunteer bridge builder, you get the opportunity to make a difference for others in your everyday life. You will be part of a community of bridge builders, where you can meet every month and save with each other. You will gain new skills through training courses and will have the opportunity to increase your communication skills and social skills. In addition, through DGI we can offer you the opportunity to participate in a number of different courses, and it will be a nice plus on your CV, to which we would like to make a recommendation and opinion.
