The Central America Committee (MAK) is looking for volunteers who want to become part of our event group and gain experience in event planning and the development of new projects and initiatives.

You will be part of a small international volunteer group whose primary task is to help arrange and hold our monthly MAK Monday, which aims to promote our information work and focus on solidarity with Central America. In addition, you will be able to try your hand at developing ideas and planning our features for various events / festivals, including Latin American Festival and Kulturhavn Festival. Meetings will be held regularly in MAK's premises in Nørrebro.

You can gain experience with:

  • To develop ideas and participate in creative processes
  • To be in charge of large and small events
  • The work of a voluntary organization that is constantly evolving
  • To increase your network among organizations in Copenhagen
  • Mobilize more volunteers

It is an advantage if you are interested in Central America, idea development and / or planning and are creative and enterprising.

The Central America Committee (MAK) is a solidarity organization that has been working since 1980 to strengthen the social and political conditions of the poor majority in Central America. The MAK actively supports the struggle for self-determination and social justice and prioritises direct cooperation with the popular organizations in Central America.

The Central America Committee has three main activities:

  • Deployment of Labor and Solidarity Brigades to Guatemala and Nicaragua
  • Project work in Central America funded by Danida and funds raised
  • Information and information work in Denmark is Denmark's leading volunteer job portal.

Mellemamerika Komiteen (MAK) er en solidaritetsorganisation, der siden 1980 har arbejdet for at styrke det fattige flertals sociale og politiske vilkår i Mellemamerika. Mellemamerika Komiteen støtter aktivt kampen for selvbestemmelse og social retfærdighed og prioriterer det direkte samarbejde med de folkelige organisationer i Mellemamerika. MAK samarbejder med en del forskellige partnere i Nicaragua, Honduras og Guatemala- og har tidligere også haft samarbejde i El Salvador. MAKs arbejde består af tre hovedopgaver: 1) udviklingsarbejde gennem projekter i Mellemamerika 2) udsendelse af solidaritetsbrigader én til flere gange årligt 3) oplysningsaktiviteter i Danmark om den politikiske situation og den kulturelle kontekst i Mellemamerika
