Who are we?

The Global Queer Volunteer Team, established in September 2020, is a volunteer group of LGBT + Denmark, the main LGBTIQ + organization in Denmark. Our Team is led by English-speaking queer migrants in Copenhagen and advocates for the rights and freedoms of LGBTIQ + communities around the world with a focus on the Global South. We organize LGBTIQ + rights campaigns and events, coordinate joint initiatives with organizations from the Global South and pursue advocacy and political activities focused on LGBTIQ + issues, intersectionality and migration. The Team is a safer space for queer migrants in Denmark and welcomes everyone who feels underrepresented by the mainstream narratives.

Who are you?

You are an enthusiastic and passionate individual who has a keen interest in LGBTIQ + issues and is highly motivated to advocate for the rights of LGBTIQ + communities both in Europe and Denmark and the Global South. Your academic or professional background does not matter as long as you want to learn more about LGBTIQ + rights and engage with queer advocacy.

This is especially a space for LGBTIQ + migrants who wish to find a safer, more international Queer community in Copenhagen, especially communities that are underrepresented by mainstream narratives (QTIBIPOCs, non-Danish speakers, persons from the Global South ...)

What we offer?

  • Training programs that will provide you with strong skills in project management, LGBTIQ + issues, research & advocacy and political work;
  • Opportunities to participate in events and join social and team-building activities where you will connect with other LGBTIQ + people and migrants in Copenhagen;
  • An international, inclusive and safer space.

We would love to hear from you. If you are interested, please fill out this quick form: https://forms.gle/FpNhR4yyMNr4uSZV7
