Danish ICYE is an exchange and youth organization under DUF (Danish Youth Council), which works to reduce cultural barriers and thus help create more peace in the world across national borders - which is really relevant right now! At Lokalforening Sjælland, we contribute to this by arranging cultural activities for people from all over the world in Denmark - and we need you, your curiosity, your ideas and commitment!
As a volunteer in the local association Zealand (Sjælland), you get the opportunity to be part of a cross-cultural community, where you together with other volunteers engage in creating both small and large (cultural) experiences for volunteers in the association and young volunteers who are in Denmark on one of the Danish ICYE's exchange programs.
This means lots of cozy and cultural events that bring people closer together here on Zealand. At the same time, you become part of a larger community at national level - and not least of an international federation and an international community that provides opportunities for participation in international workshops, trainings, projects etc.
We are looking for a volunteer for the board of the local association Zealand, who:
- Wants to meet young people from all over the world and contribute to them having a good experience in Denmark
- Feel like holding cultural events that bring people closer together
- Have evt. interest in event development, planning and holding, SoMe and communication
- Will contribute with the practical, e.g. to shop, to hang posters, to prepare rooms for events
- Can set aside up to 4 hours on average per. week

As a board member, you, together with the remaining board, are responsible for planning, holding and developing the local association's activities. You collaborate across local associations, committees, the main board and with the national secretariat.

- You are good at building relationships and engaging in dialogue (not a must, but a plus)
- You do not need to have experience with board work. The most important thing is that you want to be part of the local association's community
Who are we?
The Danish ICYE (International Cultural Youth Exchange) is a non-profit exchange organization primarily for young people between 16-30 years. We send both Danish young people out into the world for exchange and volunteer work and receive foreign volunteers to Denmark. The idea is that young people from all over the world should have the opportunity to travel and meet new cultures.
