Right now we are looking for two or three volunteer activity leaders to be in charge of:

  • Recruitment of new volunteers
  • Planning of shifts
  • Social and subject-relevant events for the group of volunteers a few times a year
  • Communication with the volunteers via joint Facebook group

About recruitment

As an activity leader, you must read, answer inquiries, invite interested volunteers for interviews and hold the interviews. This is of course done together with an experienced volunteer, until you are confident in the task. As some of the volunteers are English-speaking, it is important that you can speak and write English.

About shift planning

We need volunteers as a supplement our employees in their daily work. Therefore, it is important that the shift planning works as smoothly as possible, so we make sure that there are people in the house who can take care of the residents while they are there. It will be your task to make sure that the schedule goes up every week, so we ensure the best surroundings for the residents while they are at Eirsgaard.

About events

As activity leaders, you are responsible for planning and facilitating both social and professional (workshops, lectures etc) events for the volunteer group. The volunteers at Eirsgaard do not necessarily see each other often, and therefore it is important that they meet about once every quarter, so that the community and the volunteer spirit are strengthened both professionally and socially. The budget for the events is very limited, but in return the framework for the content is wide, so you can largely plan based on what you think could be relevant, exciting and cozy.

We are looking for activity leaders who:

  • Can work about 3-5 hours a week and in addition take a regular volunteer shift approx. once a month
  • Thrives with planning, coordinating and communicating
  • Can speak and write English
  • Want to work with homeless people

  • Opportunity to attend free courses and lectures at the Red Cross and with our partners
  • Flexibility in relation to the division of tasks between you, depending on what you enjoy best. Ie. You can be in charge of all tasks both or divide the responsibilities between you
  • Flexibility in relation to working at home and at Eirsgaard, however, most hours must be at Eirsgaard
  • Pippie, who is our daily leader's dog, is at work every day. In addition, the citizens often also have their dogs with them when they stay at the care center, so you must be able to tolerate - and like also - dogs as a volunteer at Eirsgaard
