As treasurer of Our Asylum Children, you are a member of the board, and get a central role in an association that contributes to creating better conditions for asylum children in Denmark.

The board meets every other month on a weekday evening. You should expect to spend approx. 2 hours a week on average at work as a cashier. However, it will vary in periods and there is great flexibility. In addition, it is expected that you can commit to a minimum of 1 year at a time.

Your tasks consist of:

  • Ongoing bookkeeping in bookkeeping program (Billy.dk)
  • Payments and bank transfers
  • Preparation of association budget and annual accounts (and contact to auditor)
  • Ongoing give the board status on finances, including on fundraisers
  • Primary contact to bank and Mobilepay
  • Obtaining permits for collections
  • Ad hoc administrative work, which for example relates to VAT, tax etc.
  • Possibly assist with fundraising, primarily in connection with. budgets and accounts

If you have experience with any of the above, it is an advantage, but not a requirement. It can be learned and there will be training and handover at the current treasurer. The most important thing is that you think the work is exciting, structured and takes responsibility.

About Our Asylum Children

Our Asylum Children has existed since 2014, and is a non-profit organization that aims to promote better conditions for asylum children while they are in Denmark. The association provides legal assistance and family treatment to asylum children and their families. In addition, we have a group of volunteer enthusiasts who are contact persons for asylum children and young people, and contribute with social gatherings, homework help or other things as needed.

Within the last few years, our Asylum Children have been developing purely organizationally. We have become more strategic and a stronger administrative capacity has been built up. We currently have a very small economy, with primary income from fundraisers for specific purposes as well as few donations, and very few expenses. We are now ready - and in the process of - seeking funding from external funds, to create a more stable economy and the opportunity for more activities. Fundraising is facilitated by a voluntary fundraising team in close collaboration with the board.
