Caritas job inclusion is a newly started project that offers advice in job search, CV improvement and applications - with the aim of helping vulnerable migrants closer to the labor market. The advice is free and does not require an appointment. The consultancy is run by volunteers who contribute their time and skills - preferably min. one shift per month.

The counseling is open to anyone who experiences challenges in entering the labor market as a migrant - and who wants help to change direction, improve job search, get better dressed for job interviews, etc.

Counseling is open for attendance two days a week – Wednesday 11am -2pm and Friday between 2pm and 5pm. The counseling center is centrally located in Copenhagen, close to Hovedbanegården with easy access for both volunteers and users. Users can enter from the street or book an appointment for advice beforehand. It will be possible to offer online advice as a supplement to the physical advice.

We are looking for volunteers with some of the following skills:

  • knowledge and experience from the HR area, or
  • knowledge and experience from trade union work, or
  • recruitment of employees or the employment area

We are looking for volunteers who:

  • want to ensure that migrants' rights are met
  • can identify with Caritas Denmark's values
  • want to make a difference
  • like to speak different languages so that we can ensure the best possible advice - but at the same time it is an advantage if you speak Danish for household needs

The project is organized under Caritas Denmark and collaborates with Caritas' other national efforts as well as with other organizations that work with the target group. The day-to-day operations are ensured by a steering group, which has practical responsibility for the project's implementation as well as documentation and evaluation. The expected time consumption is estimated at five hours per month at one shift per month plus volunteer meetings and upskilling.

The project is part of a comprehensive effort towards labor migrants, which will also offer courses, language teaching, job fairs etc.

In order to become a volunteer, it is a requirement to be able to obtain a clean criminal record, to give a commitment to obtain a child's certificate, to be aware that the counseling is subject to confidentiality and to be able to sign Caritas Denmark's policies. All volunteers enter into a volunteer contract with the project.

Your application must contain:

  • Your contact information
  • Motivation and interest in working with socially vulnerable migrants
  • Your education and experience – including your CV
  • Possibility to take shifts

We look forward to hearing from you!
