About us:
Headspace is an anonymous and free counseling service for young people aged 12-25 who need someone to talk to. The young people can approach directly from the street without prior appointment or make an appointment. Their problems may be relational, emotional or practical – nothing is too big or small. The young people who need more help than we can give them in headspace are followed on the way to the right help.
The work usually takes place every Thursday from 14:00-18:00 at Tempovej 1 in Hadsund.
About you:
- You are passionate about working with young people
- You have life experiences and experiences that have equipped you well for working with young people
- You are a student on a relevant social work education (e.g. social worker, physiotherapist, teacher, pedagogue, psychologist, doctor, nurse, etc.)
- You are a practitioner - or have been - within the fields mentioned
- You can communicate with children and young people
About the tasks:
- Counseling the young people – i.e. conversations in the center or in one of our outgoing consultations.
- Advice via chat, phone or email
- Follow-up and practical help – for example accompanying the young person to the doctor, the municipality or another service, helping to apply for SU or finding answers to concrete questions of a practical nature.
- Advocacy (e.g. presentations at schools, establishment of collaboration with the local environment, organizing headspace events, participating in festivals, town parties and the like, as well as advertising for headspace)
