The Peder Lykke Center is looking for volunteers to be in charge of Community Talk at the nursing home.
Many of our residents remain interested in the community around them, although they do not use it as actively as when they were younger. Therefore, we would very much like to have a visit from some volunteers who would like to sit and read the newspaper aloud and talk to the residents about what is happening locally and globally.
The residents gather every day at 14 in the common rooms of the departments, where they get coffee and cake. It will be at such an afternoon time that you will lead the Community Talk with the residents.
The practical
Time: at 14-16 a weekday. We are flexible about the day of the week, so please write in your application which days would suit you.
How often: We prefer that you can come every week, but every other week would also be okay.
About you
The most important thing to be a volunteer with us is that you have heart space.
You must be present and spacious, and you must be able to create a safe environment and pleasant experiences for residents with different functional levels and needs.
We are a diverse care center with residents and staff from all over the world and we want our volunteer group to reflect that diversity. So finally, don't hesitate to apply as a volunteer, even if you don't have a Danish background or speak Danish fluently.
