The Danish House in Palestine (DHIP) facilitates voluntary work through our local partner organizations in Palestine. Currently, the organization Tamer Institute for Community Education is looking for volunteers with a background in design and/or administration.
Regarding the position:
- You must be at least 18 years old, but there is no upper age limit
- Demonstrate data entry experience
- Be familiar with Adobe Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, etc.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other office related software
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Positive attitude, professional behavior and good social skills
- Preferably able to volunteer for two weeks to three months
Tamer Institute for Community Education
Tamer Institute primarily works with and for children and young people - they provide safe and spacious learning environments and materials. The Tamer Institute has a publishing unit, holds intellectual lectures for educators and librarians, organizes workshops, leads youth groups, facilitates community initiatives, donates books to local libraries and organizes an annual reading campaign. The Institute identifies the greatest need as obtaining funding to help people learn and engage in their communities. The Tamer Institute principally focuses on the right to education, identity, freedom of expression, access to information and supports all forms of expression at national and international level. In the longer term , the Tamer Institute works to realize social change by contributing to a Palestinian environment that supports learning processes, and the institute supports literary and scientific production on children's culture in Palestine.

Are you considering gaining experience in art and culture in Palestine as a volunteer? The Danish House in Palestine has more than 10 years of experience in providing a wide spectrum of volunteer opportunities in East Jerusalem and across the West Bank for young people, retired people and everything in between.
Our volunteer program is facilitated by us, but gives you a unique chance to volunteer in one of our partner organizations in an enriching learning environment - both on a professional and personal level. Our organization's DNA is based on mutual learning, so it is essential for us that both volunteer candidates and host organizations benefit from the stay.
Practical information
The deadline for applications is ongoing. We will review your application together with the partner organization and get back to you with more information as soon as possible.
The Danish House in Palestine puts you in touch with the host organization and provides you with practical support and advice in connection with security, accommodation and travel. The price for participating in the volunteer program is DKK 5,000 and includes:
- Facilitation and coordination of your volunteer stay with one of our partner organisations
- Pick-up and transport from the airport to your destination
- Briefing incl. details regarding security, code of conduct, etc.
- A contact person at DHIP throughout your stay
- A lunch at DHIP in Ramallah
- Help in finding accommodation
- Ongoing security updates
- An educational tour in Hebron
- Participation in events and excursions
- Individual feedback and evaluation
The length of the stay is decided together with the individual candidate. Air tickets are not included in the price.
