The Danish House in Palestine (DHIP) facilitates voluntary work in Palestine with our local partner organizations. At the moment, Juna Farm is looking for volunteers with a background in cultivation. 

About the position: 

  • You must be at least 18 years old, but no upper age-limit
  • Experience with planting and cultivationg is preferred/recommended
  • A degree in a relevant field is an advantage
  • Good communication-skills 
  • Should be able to maintain and operate specialised equipment used for planting and maintaining plants
  • Be able to pass on your knowledge to others in English
  • Preferably able to volunteer for two weeks to three months
  • Free accommodation and food are provided as part of Palestinian hospitality

Juna Farm

Juna Farm is an initiative to develop ecological and sustainable tourism through agriculture whilst promoting Palestinian culture and raising awareness of the situation in Palestine. Volunteers stay at the house and participate in everyday-life at the farm, including holiday-celebrations and seasonal events. Juna Farm is a smaller organisation within the organisation Hakaya that works with storytelling and social hiking as a way of strengthening Palestinian civil society.

Are you considering gaining experience within the field of art and culture in Palestine as a volunteer? Tthe Danish House in Palestine has more than 10 years of experience in providing a wide range of volunteering opportunities in East Jerusalem and across The West Bank for young, retired and everyone in between. 

Our new volunteer program is facilitated by us, but gives you a unique opportunity to volunteer with one of our partner organisations in an enriching learning environment - both on a personal and professional level. Our organisation's DNA is based on mutual learning, so it is essential for us that the stay benefits both the candidate and the host-organisation. 

Practical information

The deadline for application is ongoing. We will review your application with our partner-organisation and get back to you with further information as soon as possible. 

The Danish House in Palestine connects you with the host-organisation and provides you with support and advice in relation to security, accommodation, travelling, etc. The price for participating in the volunteer-program is 5.000DKK and includes: 

  • Facilitation and coordination of your voluntary stay with one of our partner-organisations
  • Pick-up and transportation from the airport to your destination
  • A contact-person at DHIP throughout your stay
  • Briefing including details on security, code od conduct, etc. 
  • A lunch at the office of DHIP in Ramallah
  • An education tour in Hebron with a local guide
  • Help in finding accommodation
  • Ongoing security updates
  • Participation in events and excursions
  • Individual feedback and evaluation

The length of the stay is decided together with the individual candidate. Plane-tickets are not included in the price.
