The Danish House in Palestine ( DHIP ) facilitates voluntary work with our local partner organizations in Palestine. Juna Farm is currently looking for volunteers with experience in growing and cultivating crops.

Regarding the position:

  • You must be 18 years of age, but there is no upper age limit
  • Experience with cultivation and cultivation of crops is preferred/recommended
  • Education in a relevant field is an advantage
  • Good communication skills
  • Demonstrate experience in maintaining and operating specialized equipment
  • Able to pass on your knowledge in English to others
  • Preferably with the opportunity to volunteer for two weeks to three months
  • Board and lodging are provided free of charge by Juna Farm as part of Palestinian hospitality

Juna Farm

Juna Farm is an initiative to develop ecological and sustainable tourism through agriculture while promoting Palestinian culture and raising awareness of the situation in Palestine. Volunteers live in the house and participate in everyday life on the farm, including seasonal events and religious celebrations such as Eid Al-Fitr. Juna Farm is a smaller organization within the organization Hakaya , which works with storytelling and social walking as a way to strengthen Palestinian civil society.

Are you considering gaining experience in art and culture in Palestine as a volunteer? The Danish House in Palestine has more than 10 years of experience in providing a wide spectrum of opportunities for voluntary work in East Jerusalem and the West Bank for both young people, retired people and everything in between.

Our new volunteer program is facilitated by us, but gives you a unique opportunity to volunteer with one of our partner organizations in an enriching learning environment - both on a personal and professional level. Our organisation's DNA is based on mutual learning, so it is essential for us that the stay benefits both the volunteer and the host organisations.

Practical information

The deadline for applications is ongoing. We will look at your application together with our partner organization and get back to you with more information as soon as possible.

The Danish House in Palestine puts you in touch with the host organization and gives you support and advice in relation to security, accommodation and travel. The price for participating in the volunteer program is DKK 5,000 and includes:

  • Facilitation and coordination of your voluntary stay with one of our partner organisations
  • Pick-up and transport from the airport to your destination
  • Briefing incl. security details, code of conduct, etc.
  • A contact person in DHIP throughout your stay
  • A lunch at the DHIP office in Ramallah
  • Help in finding accommodation
  • Ongoing security updates
  • An informative tour of Hebron with a local guide
  • Participation in events and excursions
  • Individual feedback and evaluation

The length of the stay is decided together with the individual candidate. Air tickets are not included in the price.
