Can you grow plants and operate a spade or mower? And do you want to help keep one of the city's old gardens nice and presentable?

Then you are the one we need at Lemvig Museum!

As a volunteer, you become part of a social community with other volunteers and employees who work to maintain the museum's buildings and make exhibitions and activities a good experience for our guests.

The Lemvig Museum collects, registers, researches and disseminates the cultural history of the Lemvig region so that it can be preserved and provide knowledge for current and future generations. We run the Lemvig Museum, Jens Søndergaards Museum, Flyvholm Rescue Station, the Mini Museum and a number of paths, signs etc.

The museum has several volunteers who come regularly every week, as well as a number of volunteers who can be called on for special occasions – e.g. coffee brewing and table settings for events. Some handle special ad hoc tasks such as distribution of leaflets, registration of old letters.

The museum has 320 members. The Lemvig Museums have around 10,000 visitors a year.
Lemvig Museum is an independent self-owned institution, where the board is elected by the members of the museum association.

As a thank you for your voluntary help, the Lemvig museum/Museumsforeningen for Lemvig and surrounding area offers:

  • Work is enjoyable and not least during the coffee break, where there is often baked goods.
  • Every year, all employees and volunteers are invited to a lovely Christmas lunch.
  • Summer excursion to a museum, city walk or the like where you have fun in good company with each other and are offered something good to eat.

You can find out more about the above or apply by contacting our Museum Manager via email.
