You talk to each individual participant and help them find activities that match their wishes and interests. It can be men's clubs, sports groups, outdoor communities, cozy gatherings, or something else entirely. It depends entirely on the participants.
If the participant needs it, you accompany them to the first activity and introduce them to the group. You then follow up so that you can find out together whether the activity is the right match.
Many people - and especially men - can find it difficult to take the first step into a community. Your help makes it easier for them to come along and for some it is a direct prerequisite for going.
How much time you can spend as a volunteer is up to you. But we expect you to volunteer once a week for at least half a year and of course when it fits in your calendar. We will then see if you want to continue.
We are looking for a broad group of community guides across age, gender, occupation and more. We do not require your professional background. The most important thing is that you are good at listening and talking to people and meeting them where they are in life.
We provide you with thorough training, ongoing support and a lot of new experiences, where you can also learn something new about the many good offers in Silkeborg.
You will be part of Frivilligcenter Silkeborg's volunteer team, where we work together to create stronger communities for everyone.
