Become a volunteer in our Kig Ind-Café in Skanderborg!

We are currently looking for more committed volunteers for our Kig Ind-Café (Dyrehaven 10E, Skanderborg), who can help us create a safe and cozy get-together for both children and adults every Tuesday.

As a volunteer with us, you can look forward to an exciting and varied role , where you will have the opportunity to activate and help children, e.g. through creative projects, and there is plenty of opportunity for this with us, as we have access to several workshops and materials.

The weeks can vary a lot, with some being busier than others, but we help each other and make sure that the fun is always present - both when the hustle and bustle shows up and when the shifts are calmer. In addition, as a volunteer in the café, you also have the opportunity to help with homework help, language training and everyday advice . The everyday advice consists of helping citizens with a refugee and ethnic minority background with everyday things such as contacting public authorities, reading and understanding letters from the municipality, MitID, e-box and making an appointment with the doctor.

We hope that you as a volunteer:

• Have the opportunity to participate every Tuesday from 17.00 – 19.00 , as it creates more stability and security for our visitors
• Wants to work with children and come up with fun and creative activities.
• Is flexible, welcoming, open and curious
• There are no requirements for academic qualifications or competences

Our Kig Ind Café is part of the DRC Danish Refugee Council, and as a volunteer with us:

• You will be properly dressed for the role as a volunteer with a thorough introduction to the work and guidance
• Do you become part of a large and social volunteer team
• You get the opportunity for sparring and advice with your volunteer coordinator and volunteer colleagues
• Are you offered free workshops and presentations, where you have a good opportunity to upgrade your qualifications and add to your professional skills
• In addition, you also get the opportunity to get to know people who come from another culture and gain a greater understanding and knowledge of voluntary work and cultural meetings
