As part of our goal of promoting better conditions for asylum-seeking children and children of asylum-seeking parents, we are looking for volunteers with a background in psychology, education or family therapy who, through conversation, observation and modeling, can promote the well-being of the children.
About us
Our Asylbørn is a non-profit organization that aims to promote better and fairer conditions for asylum-seeking children and children of asylum-seeking parents while they are in Denmark. We work with children and families at risk of deportation. Our unique approach, where we combine legal advice within the Immigration Act, Children's Rights and the Children's Act with psychosocial interventions in the form of family treatment and contact person support, means that we are successful in the majority of our cases, both in terms of the legal cases and in terms of the children's well-being. We work holistically and tailor each and every course to the child's needs.
Our Asylum Children won the 2019 Children's Rights Award.
Our Asylum Children has existed since November 2014, but became an established association in September 2017. The association has three areas of focus that together contribute to promoting the association's purpose.

About you
We expect you to:
We also ask that you set aside 2 hours per month to participate in supervision and volunteer meetings with the other volunteers and the coordinators from the different teams. At these volunteer meetings, we talk about success stories, challenges in individual cases, provide support to each other and receive training in various tools that you will be able to use in your volunteer work with us.
We need a committed volunteer family therapist who can think about family therapy creatively and transculturally. You want to make a difference, and at the same time manage to accommodate the uncertainty and vulnerability in the reality of asylum children. You will receive ongoing supervision and be prepared to work in the family therapy team by psychologist and team coordinator Josefine Nymand.
What we offer
Based on your application, you will be invited to an initial interview.
Interviews are held on an ongoing basis. We look forward to hearing from you!
