Do you speak Russian or Ukrainian? Help a Ukrainian woman who is new to Denmark!

She is a creative woman who enjoys knitting and drawing. With a limited network, the days can feel lonely and long. She therefore hopes to meet a volunteer who can help her break out of her loneliness. As a volunteer, you can be the one who brings presence and conversation into an everyday life where not much else happens.

You will start by setting a good expectation, where you agree on what you want to meet about, where and when. We will facilitate your first meeting and follow up with sparring.

The role of networker is flexible. The most important thing is that you:

• Have the time and desire to get to know another person and enter into an equal and supportive relationship.
• Is spacious and welcoming.
• Is patient, stable and can meet once a week or every other week.
• Live in or around Odense S, but if you live further away, we will cover your transportation costs.

Good relationships take time to build, and we therefore prefer that you want to meet for at least six months, and preferably longer.

What do you get in return as a volunteer?

• Opportunity to get to know another person and make a significant difference.
• Opportunity to attend relevant and free courses from DRC Danish Refugee Council.
• Ongoing guidance from an employee at DRC Danish Refugee Council.

You will become a volunteer in the project Life Goes On, where you as a network person support another person with a refugee background who is, or has been, involved in trauma treatment. You will become the part of life that is not about treatment, but on the contrary, everyday life and good experiences that the two of you find together.
