Café Mellemfolk is a volunteer-driven non-profit café and bar that is a part of the Danish NGO Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke. We work for a more just and sustainable world and support activism in Denmark and abroad.
As a kitchen volunteer, you help prepare and serve the food together with the rest of the kitchen team. During your shift, you will help prepare the food for daily dishes (soup, paninis, cinnamon rolls, etc.) and evening service (Global Kitchen, burgers, ramen, mezze and much more!). The work is easy to do, and we help each other. There is no experience and training required, just a desire to learn.
What you get
- Be part of a large community of internationals from different backgrounds
- Gain experience with working in the kitchen and preparing plant-based food
- Join lots of interesting events, such as concerts, political events or parties
- Become part of a bigger movement of social change and activism
What we expect
- Take at least 3 shifts (5 hours) per month (usually the shifts are from 10.00-15.00)
- Be respectful and mindful of the others
- Committed to volunteering for a minimum of 6 months

You can also expand your area of volunteering with us and help out behind the bar or get more involved in our activism groups. Our only demand is that you are at least 18 years old.
