Do you want to make a difference for people with or at increased risk of type 2 diabetes while strengthening your career opportunities, expanding your network and becoming part of a meaningful community?
HEALTHY TOGETHER is a new initiative that gives exercise-intolerant people the opportunity to find the joy of movement in community with others. As a volunteer in the project, you will become part of a committed volunteer team with other different students or recent graduates who work to create safe and motivating environments for various physical activities such as adapted team games.
More than half of the Danish adult population does not meet the WHO's minimum recommendations for physical activity. This is a major challenge for public health, as physical activity prevents over 35 different life-threatening diseases, including type 2 diabetes. The vast majority of those who do not meet the minimum recommendations want to be more physically active. There is therefore a need to develop and implement initiatives that appeal to more people. HEALTHY TOGETHER will make it easier and more fun by bringing people together in a movement community where more people can join in - regardless of experience and level.
As a volunteer in HEALTHY TOGETHER, you contribute to creating a safe environment in a team where participants experience success, strength and joy through movement. Together we combat physical inactivity and build a strong network that promotes a healthier and more active life.
As a volunteer you will receive:
✅ Opportunity to become part of a new development and research project and a unique flexible volunteer job
✅ Opportunity to develop yourself personally and professionally with valuable experience in areas such as management, communication, planning, coordination, facilitation of groups and collaboration - skills that are in high demand in the labor market
✅ A basic course that prepares you for the role, ongoing skills development and a volunteer certificate that strengthens your CV
✅ A strong network of other committed students and professionals who are passionate about health, movement and social change
✅ Opportunity to experience the joy of helping others, while becoming part of an inclusive and meaningful community where we lift together
✅ Opportunity to participate in the Diabetes Association's annual volunteer day and annual meeting with workshops and professional presentations
