'The Road to Everyday Life' is a research-based group course that lasts 11 weeks with the opportunity to participate in companion activities along the way.

The group process is led by two volunteer peers who themselves have experience with mental vulnerability, and this is where you come into the picture if you want to support others in becoming stronger in everyday life.

As a volunteer, you use your personal experiences and understanding. It is therefore necessary that you have experienced mental challenges yourself. Our experience is that it makes a big difference for the participants that the volunteers have felt the challenges themselves. It creates hope to see that others who have had a hard time are living a meaningful life with the energy to help others. This is called peer-to-peer.

What do we expect from you as a volunteer peer?

  • It does not require any specific professional background, but rather that you have the courage to use your own experiences with mental vulnerability.

  • You are at a place in your own process where you are able to put others at the center and draw on your own experiences when it makes sense.

  • You can commit to leading a group course for 11 weeks. The next group will start in February 2025.

  • You can participate in a training weekend where you will be equipped to facilitate the group using a manual that you can use throughout the process.

  • You are over 18 years old.

What can we offer you?

  • The framework for you to bring your personal experiences into play to help others and at the same time learn more about yourself.

  • Sparring and support from the local coordinator so you are never alone with the task.

  • A constructive community with the opportunity to create a new network.

  • Experience in working with volunteering, the mentally vulnerable and facilitation, which adorns any CV.
