Become A Volunteer For WAFA (Water Air Food Awards)

WAFA is a volunteer-based NGO headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. Our main activities are to identify, recognize, and award community initiatives that address basic needs and collaborate with nature. By doing this, we give a voice to otherwise unknown and unheard heroes. 

We are looking for a Head of HR. As a Head of HR, you will be responsible for driving our organization-wide Talent & Culture strategy, People Management, and team development initiatives, fostering a healthy, inclusive volunteering environment. You will also be part of our leadership core team and work closely with international colleagues!

Your responsibilities:

  • Talent Acquisition: Lead our talent acquisition strategy ensuring we attract great talent globally that meets and supports our needs.
  • Culture and volunteer experience/engagement: Lead and manage initiatives to shape and develop WAFA culture fostering inclusivity, respect and a positive volunteering experience
  • HR Strategy Development and Execution: Develop the HR strategy in line with the WAFA's development and needs and collaborate with the leadership team, and department heads to implement HR programs and initiatives
  • HR Analytics and Reporting: Lead HR analysis of Key HR metrics to understand volunteer dynamics and informed recommendations for improvements to streamline processes and drive volunteer engagement
  • Relationship Management: Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across the organization
  • Team Management: Manage and coach a team of 3 HR volunteers and collaborate with them to build inclusive spaces within the organization

We expect you to:

  • Have experience or interest in sustainability and our mission.
  • HR working experience, at least 5 years in a managerial role
  • Have an eye for details with an open and creative mind!
  • Be a strong communicator.
  • Be able to work independently.
  • Be fluent in English writing and verbal. 
  • Have availability of 8-10 hours per week minimum.

It goes without saying that you enjoy working with people and are a team player and that you are self-driven and well-organised.

You will be working remotely and require access to a computer with a fast internet connection. We communicate via emails and video calls.
