THE CLOTHING POT AND THE MEN'S HOME THRIFTY SHOP

We are looking for a SoMe volunteer for our Clothing Project, which consists of two units that work closely together: The Clothing Depot, which ensures our users have neat and clean clothes tailored to the season, and the Men's Home Resale Shop, which sells second-hand clothing.

At the Clothing Depot, all the clothes donated to the Men's Home are sorted, and it is also here that our users can receive clothes, shoes, hygiene items, sleeping bags, etc. during the depot's opening hours.

The Men's Home Resale Shop sells clothing that is not suitable for a hard life on the streets. The resale shop is 100% non-profit, and the money generated in the shop goes to run the clothing distribution. When you shop at the Men's Home Resale Shop, you are helping to ensure that people who live vulnerable lives on the streets can also get clothes and shoes.

The clothing depot is open Monday-Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm.

The thrift store is open Monday-Friday 1-5:30 PM and Saturday-Sunday 11-3:30 AM.

SOCIAL MEDIA

We would like to spread the word about our Clothing Project to even more people, and therefore we are looking for a volunteer who wants to:

  • Create content for the Clothing Project's social media, mainly Facebook and Instagram, but also preferably on multiple channels!
  • Respond to various inquiries via our social media.
  • Prepare various types of material, such as leaflets and posters about the work of the Men's Home.
  • Possibly start other activities: events in the store, participation in flea markets or something completely different - only your imagination sets the limits!

ABOUT YOU:

  • You want a volunteer job with meaning and the opportunity to make a difference for the Men's Home's target group.
  • You are interested in communication, are studying a communication degree - and would like to try your hand at social media and digital communication.
  • You have the opportunity to dedicate around 2-4 hours per week to volunteer work.
  • You are at least 18 years old.

YOU GET:

  • Opportunity to make a difference for the users of the Men's Home.
  • Experience with volunteer work and concrete professional experience for the CV, as well as new material for the portfolio
  • Possibly a recommendation from the Men's Home.
  • A volunteer job with great flexibility.
  • Opportunity to become part of a friendly, voluntary community, as well as to participate in volunteer meetings and other social and professional events.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or in hearing more about Mændendes Hjem and Genbrugsbutikken, please contact volunteer coordinators Ziyad Mehdi and Caroline Johansen. We look forward to hearing from you!
