Do you want to make a world of difference for children with refugee backgrounds in Aalborg?

As a volunteer, you participate in the café once a week, where you, together with the other volunteers, help create a welcoming free space for the children, with space for homework, fun activities and a safe community. Since the learning café is intended for children who do not yet have much knowledge of the Danish school system, it is important to consider and include the parents in the process. This is done with the aim of making the parents more knowledgeable about homework and school culture in Denmark. The most important purpose of the learning café is to increase the children's professionalism, well-being and motivation, with the aim of helping them to settle well in Denmark.

The café is open once a week for 2 hours, with the same children participating each time. As a volunteer, you help make a meaningful difference for children with refugee backgrounds.

What tasks can you expect?

• Homework help and professional support for bilingual children
• To do fun activities and community-building activities with the children with a focus on well-being and learning
• Being supportive and listening to the children and their needs
