As a recycling volunteer at DanChurchAid, you help sort and price clothes, things and belongings, keep the store neat and, not least, serve our sweet customers.
In addition, as a volunteer, you help donate over DKK 30 million from thrift stores to people in the world's poorest countries every year. At the same time, you help ensure that several hundred tons of clothing and other items do not go to waste, but are recycled.
This is what we expect from you as a volunteer:
You will be part of a strong team of volunteers, where social aspects are paramount, and where we make sure that everyone can join in. We hope that you would like to spend about four hours a week in the store. But it is entirely up to you how many hours you want to help.
We encourage you to help define your role in the store. However, some examples of what you can help with are:
To create a safe and social community with other volunteers
If you have a good idea for other activities or places where your skills can be put to use, we are also very curious to hear from you.
About DanChurchAid and the thrift stores:
DanChurchAid is a Danish organization with 100 years of experience in emergency relief work. We provide emergency relief in disaster-stricken areas and long-term development aid in poor regions to create a more equal and sustainable world.
DanChurchAid opened the first thrift store in Denmark in 1972. Since then, things have grown rapidly, and the number of thrift stores has now reached over 100. The income from the thrift stores goes to help the world's most vulnerable in their fight for a sustainable future.
We encourage all interested people, regardless of age, gender, disability, race, religion and ethnic affiliation, to apply for positions at DanChurchAid.
