Ranum Efterskole hosts students from all over the world every year who come to Denmark to experience our school life, culture and community. When the school is on weekend or holiday, they need a place where they can find peace, become part of a Danish home and experience everyday life as we know it.
This is where you come into the picture.
As a weekend family for AFS Interkultur, you open your home approximately once a month – and during holidays – to an international student. It does not require any special qualifications: You just need to be willing to share your everyday life, a hot meal and a little Danish coziness.
🔹 AFS provides practical coordination and payment for transportation between Ranum and your home
🔹 Your family, in collaboration with the after-school student, will decide how often you should have visits.
🔹 It's free – it's about volunteerism, not economics
Many families describe it as an eye-opening experience, where both children and adults gain new perspectives, friendships – and a window to the world.
