Hus Forbi is currently looking for volunteers to help run the lunch program in our café and lounge in Vanløse, where homeless and socially vulnerable people come every day to drink coffee, take a shower or do laundry, buy Hus Forbi newspapers and eat lunch.
The tasks consist of:
- Planning and shopping for lunch for about 20-30 people
- Cooking, serving and washing up after meals
- To be present and talk to the homeless and vulnerable people who use the cafe
- Together with employees and other volunteers in the house, help develop Hus Forbi's café and lunch program to become the best possible offer for our users.

You will become part of one of the most important homeless associations in Denmark, helping over 700 homeless and socially vulnerable people across the country. In addition, you will receive:
- Responsibility for an important task that helps to increase the quality of life for homeless and socially disadvantaged Hus Forbi sellers in Copenhagen every day
- Direct experience of contact with a number of homeless, socially vulnerable and queer people
- Experience in planning, organizing and operating a food program for the homeless and vulnerable
- Ongoing sparring with our employees as well as introduction and advanced training in conflict management and social work
- Experience for your CV, as well as the opportunity to get a statement from Hus Forbi about your work for the homeless and vulnerable
- Opportunity to broaden your horizons and gain insight into life as a homeless and socially disadvantaged person in Denmark
- A community with other volunteers who are passionate about making a difference
Practical
You will be part of a small team with other volunteers, and we expect you to have the opportunity to take at least one shift every 14 days, between 9 am and 2 pm.
