We are currently looking for more volunteers to become part of our fantastic Food Community, which we hold two Wednesdays every month, at Byens Hus in Hellerup.

The food community is an initiative that is open to all citizens, where you can meet, cook together, eat and have fun with new and old acquaintances. All kinds of people come, of all ages, and it is always cozy.

Right now, we are missing several volunteers for various tasks related to the communal meal:

Volunteers for cooking (4 to 5 volunteers)

Tasks:

  • Preparation : Cut vegetables, prepare ingredients, and make sure everything is ready for cooking.
  • Cooking : Help prepare various dishes under the guidance of a head chef.
  • Serving : Prepare the food and ensure that it is served in an inviting manner.
  • Cleaning : Clean the kitchen and wash the dishes after cooking.
  • Coordination : Working with other volunteers to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

Volunteers for transportation (2 volunteers with their own car)

Tasks:

  • Picking up goods : Driving to various locations locally to pick up groceries and other necessities.
  • Delivery : Transporting the food and other items to the kitchen and dining room.
  • Coordination : Collaborate with the cooking team to ensure all necessities are in place on time.

As a volunteer, you help create good settings for meetings between people, support newly arrived refugees and contribute to an active and vibrant local community.

You can expect:

  • Sweet volunteer colleagues
  • Fun social events
  • You support a good cause and promote the integration of newly arrived refugees

The food community is organized by DAPAO, a local association that works for women's rights and opportunities and which, among other things, has integration and cross-cultural understanding as its main interests. The food community is a collaboration between Dapao, the Network House, the City House and the Volunteer Center. Everyone is welcome here, regardless of background, and we share the good atmosphere and the desire to make delicious and healthy food.

So grab your friend or neighbor and sign up as a volunteer for the Food Community.

We look forward to meeting you!
