As a project manager for the Friendship Group, you, together with another project manager, lead and coordinate a team of approx. 5-8 young volunteers who regularly meet with a group of children approx. every other Sunday, aged approx. 6-12 years. Together you do fun activities such as taking a trip to the swimming pool or the cinema, playing football and round ball in the park or making creative projects and food together - only your imagination sets the limits!
What the children in the Friendship Group have in common is that they have a refugee background and have been placed in housing in Køge with a temporary residence permit. The goal is to create friendships among the children and give them knowledge of the activity opportunities in Køge through a safe and strengthening community in the Friendship Group.
We offer you: Networking and friendships with other committed volunteers. Improvement of CV and skills in project management, communication and pedagogy. Free courses to develop volunteer work. Meaningful experiences with children and young people who need extra support.
As a project manager, you must: Hold monthly volunteer meetings. Make shift schedules and activity plans (in collaboration with the group's volunteers). Welcome new volunteers at a short introductory meeting with the volunteer. Welcome new children at a meeting with the children and their parents. Inform the children's parents about the Friendship Group's activities. Be jointly responsible, in collaboration with the secretariat, for the Friendship Group's budget to be adhered to. Ensure that all relevant information flows between the Save the Children Youth secretariat and the volunteers in the project. You will share all tasks and areas of responsibility with your co-project manager.
It is expected that: You can participate for 3 hours every other Sunday, as well as in the monthly volunteer meeting. You can be part of the project for a minimum of 6 months, and preferably longer. You will support, coordinate and motivate the volunteer group in collaboration with your co-project manager. You are between 18-30 years old (as RBU is a youth organization). Join RBU and submit a child certificate to us.
