Become a volunteer coordinator at the children's club for Ukrainian refugees in Valby!

Welcome House Ottiliahus is part of the DRC Danish Refugee Council

DRC Danish Refugee Council is looking for a volunteer coordinator for our children's club in Welcome House in Ottiliahus, where around 500 Ukrainian refugees live. On the ground floor of the building, we run activities Monday to Thursday from 5-7 pm, and we are particularly in need of a new coordinator for the Wednesday group.

As a coordinator, you will be an important part of the effort to create meaningful, fun and safe experiences for the children - especially the slightly older children - and you will also have the opportunity to take responsibility and develop your organizational skills in a meaningful context.

Your tasks as coordinator:

• Coordinate and plan activities in the kids' club on Wednesdays

• Help develop new ideas and activities for the children – e.g. board games, creative projects, role-playing or sword fighting with cardboard swords

• Create shift schedules and keep an overview of the volunteer group

• Be the contact person and liaison between the volunteers and DRC Danish Refugee Council

• Ensure a good and safe atmosphere with space for both play and presence

About you:

• You want to make a difference for Ukrainian children

• You are responsible, structured and good at collaborating

• You speak Danish or English (Ukrainian or Russian is a bonus – but not a requirement)

• You don't necessarily have any special professional background – the most important thing is your commitment.
