Do you want to make a difference for men who are in a vulnerable life situation – for example at the end of their working lives or after retirement and help them enter associations and voluntary communities? As a volunteer group leader in the project More Men in Communities, you help create safe and meaningful communities where conversation, activity and presence are at the center.

We are looking for group leaders who can start group courses in the fall of 2025 after upgrading their qualifications with a free course in September.

About the project More men in communities

The project runs from September 2025 to June 2028 and aims to support men in difficult life periods through group sessions facilitated by volunteers and anchored in local associations and communities. The goal is to create a natural bridge for participants to lasting communities – also after the group session.

We are therefore looking for volunteer facilitators who will help build and lead groups of 5-8 participants (at least one group course of approximately 3-5 months).

Your tasks as a volunteer facilitator

  • Facilitate socializing and conversations as well as coordinate practical tasks in connection with group activities
  • Use conversation tools to support participants in reflecting on life's challenges
  • Collaborate with other group leaders in the project and possibly a co-facilitator
  • Create a safe and pleasant space where participants feel welcome
  • Inspire activities such as campfire food, light exercise, cooking or nature walks

We offer you

  • A course that prepares you for the role (2 hours online + 4 hours one evening in September 2025)
  • Ongoing sparring and support from the Volunteer Center
  • Participation in joint exchange of experiences and knowledge sharing
  • A meaningful community with other volunteers
  • Influence on types of group activities - rooted in local associations and voluntary communities
  • Opportunity to make a real difference in other people's lives

We expect from you

  • That you have the desire and energy to be with people in vulnerable life situations
  • That you are present, accommodating and good at listening
  • That you are responsible and have the courage to get involved in local communities
  • Being able to see yourself facilitates at least one group session (but preferably more)

You do not need to have experience in the field – we primarily look at your personal qualifications and your commitment.
