HDFql - the easy way of managing HDF5 data

HDFql was launched in 2016 by a team of interdisciplinary experts. After living in three different continents and a dozen countries, we are building roots in the coding capital of Denmark: Aarhus. HDFql is currently being used by scientists, students, universities and organizations around the world (e.g. to power electric vehicle strategies, to crunch data in renewable energy, and to deliver breakthroughs in science, biotechnology and engineering). Because we aspire to advance data-driven discoveries, HDFql is free (non profit).

Potential tasks for you as a student are flexible and would be based on your skills and interests. This could include programming or reaching out to relevant departments (who use HDF5) at Copenhagen and Aarhus Universities; or it could be crafting a strategy to engage with international universities or organizations to drive awareness and usage of HDFql (perhaps reaching out to your own uni back home if you’re an international student). You don't have to be good at everything - just at one thing.

WHY HDFql: HDFql is the first tool to manage HDF5 with a language as easy & powerful as SQL. HDF5 is the preferred standard for high volume datasets that rely on diverse datatypes, and is used by scientists and industry around the world (from NASA to Daimler).
