Café Mellemrummet is a volunteer driven non profit café and bar which is a part of the Danish NGO Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke. All profits go to a project, which changes every second year.
This year we support a political and feministic leadership training project in Uganda.
The concept of the café is simple: Good vibes, fair trade and organic products, creativity, an interest in the world and warm hearted unity: There is room for everyone.
As a volunteer you can stand behind the bar and serve coffée, beer and drinks for both local and international guests in a calm and cozy surrounding. You will be introduced to the bar in three training shifts, where an experienced volunteer shows you the bar, how to serve coffee and other things - all depending on what you want to do. The work is easy to do, and we help each other at Mellemrummet, so other volunteers will be there to help you and answer questions.
If you want to do something else than working in the bar, you can also gain experience with planning events, working with sound at concerts, picking out products for the bar, painting and decorating the café or work with PR and communication.
There are many good reasons for volunteering at Café Mellemrummet:
If you think this sounds interesting, we are always open for new volunteers. Our only demand is that you are at least 18 years old, since you will be serving alcohol in the bar. If you join us, we also prefer that you take at least three shifts a month. One shift is usually four hours long. Note that you don't have to take bar shifts if you join one of our groups.
You can join up by showing up at our intro meeting on the first Monday of the month at 5 p.m. The address is Ravnsborggade 11, 2200 København N.
