Team "Godt På Vej" is a newly started project under the Women's Network, which helps women exposed to violence as part of their rehabilitation process.

In "Godt På Vej" the women are offered a mentoring scheme as part of their after-care. The women have followed a group treatment course over a longer period and are finally offered a volunteer mentor. The women often feel lonely and need both socializing and someone to talk to. The mentors support the women in establishing new social networks and 'living life' without violence.

With your efforts as a mentor you can help make a difference for a battered woman. You become a confidential conversation partner, and together you can get new experiences, go to a museum, cafe or eat together.

Based on the individual woman's wishes, interests, family relationships and language skills, we create a match between the volunteer mentor and the users in the network for the benefit of both parties. A mentor course has a duration of 6 months and is based on contact approx. once a week.

As a volunteer you get a lot again:

  • The joy of making a difference to another human being, and seeing the person thriving and enjoying new life.
  • You become a part of each other's life, and together you can get new exciting experiences, such as museum visits, walks and dining experiences.
  • Personal development, including professional and personal sparring.
  • We dress you up for the task via exciting courses and theme days.
  • You become part of a larger community with cozy networking activities with other participants in the activity.

Can you volunteer to live without violence?

We are looking for women who:

  • Will help to make the transition to an ordinary life easier for a battered woman.
  • Is mature, robust and tolerant and has the power to be something for someone else.
  • Are good at listening and going to other people with an open and recognizing mind.
  • Want to and opportunity to devote some hours a few times monthly to being there for another woman.

Disability or disability

If you live with a disability, illness or disability, we will try to match you to fit your needs.

The theme is linked to several different addresses in Copenhagen. Time and place of contact will be agreed individually between woman and mentor

We are looking forward to hear from you!

Do not hesitate to contact us for more information about the activity or an informal talk about the possibilities.
