ABOUT THE WHY

Founded in 2004 by documentary visionaries Mette Hoffmann Meyer (former head of documentaries at DR) and Nick Fraser (founder of BBC documentary beach Storyville), WHY was set to ensure investigative documentaries are available to everyone everywhere.

THE WHY produces & donates documentaries to underserved countries and distributes them on a sliding fee scale to other broadcasters around the world. At present we have 3 live projects, WHY SLAVERY ?, WHY STORIES & WHY PLASTIC? - The topical themes of our investigative documentary series allow us to engage with an extensive network of broadcasters, filmmakers and journalists to create high-quality content. Our films now reach more than 200 countries and territories with over 70 television broadcasters, local non-profit organizations and schools. By securing access to informative documentary films and arranging outreach events, we encourage global critical debate on human rights and environmental issues.

Frivilligjob.dk is Denmark's leading volunteer job portal.

Volunteering is for everyone - we welcome all applicants regardless of gender, ethnicity, nationality, social background, sexual orientation or religious background.
