As a parent, you visit families with children in their homes and support the parents in for example. Breaking bad habits, getting a better community in the family or focusing on good communication. The challenges may include, for example, act about an everyday structure that lags, conflicts that take up too much, children who do not thrive in their everyday life, or something else entirely. The families you want to meet are quite ordinary families who want to focus on a concrete challenge in their family life. The parents themselves have to make the changes they want, and your role is to stand on the sidelines and listen and spar with the parents about their challenge.

As a parent you get :

  • Opportunity to make a big difference for a family
  • Opportunity to use your personal and professional skills in relationships
  • Fixed professional framework for your volunteer work
  • Ongoing sparring with the local coordinator

You choose how much time you will spend as a volunteer

The parents, together with the local coordinator, prepare a goal that you then support the parents in working with. You visit the family about once a week or every 14 days where you talk to parents about how it goes and support them in working on their challenge. Most courses last for about 3-5 months, but it depends entirely on the challenge of the individual family.

We do not demand a special professional background. We are, however, interested in getting a good talk about your personal abilities and experiences. We demand that all volunteers have a clean criminal and child certificate. We would like you to be willing to volunteer for at least one year. We do this for the sake of families, who often need long-term stability. In addition, you must go through an approval course and an introductory course before you come out in a family for the first time.

Of course, we do not expect you to be able to help with all types of challenges. You agree with the local coordinator what types of tasks you can support based on your interests, experiences and competencies. is Denmark's leading volunteer job portal.

Volunteering is for everyone - we welcome all applicants regardless of gender, ethnicity, nationality, social background, sexual orientation or religious background.
