Do you want experience with the CV? Would you like to become part of the festival team at Copenhagen Photo Festival from June 6th to 16th 2019? Then you now have the opportunity to volunteer and get behind the scenes at the Nordic region's largest photo festival.
About Copenhagen Photo Festival
Copenhagen Photo Festival is one of Europe's leading festivals within national and international contemporary photography. We build bridges between camera-based art and documentary photography through our three program columns Framing Identity, Framing Society and Framing Vision. Every year between 250-300 photographers from all over the world participate in the festival program. It takes place either through the festival's heart, Photo City at Refshaleøen, which is the site of 5-10 curated solo exhibitions and The Censored Exhibition or in collaboration with one of our 45 exhibition sites through our Satellite positions.
Copenhagen Photo Festival 2019 is something new at the trendy and vibrant Refshale Island, where the festival offers both indoor and outdoor exhibitions and events.
This year, the festival collaborates with the international art center, Copenhagen Contemporary and the popular food mecca, Reffen, which offers high quality culinary experiences.
It is possible before and during the festival to take the following volunteer roles:
If you have your hands turned on correctly and you want to help build and take down the many exhibitions of the festival, then you must register as a volunteer craftsman for this year's festival. As a craftsman you will work before and after the festival, where you will become part of our craft team. You do not need to be a trained craftsman, but we expect you to have experience with the subject and can take it.
We are looking for fresh runners for practical tasks before the festival. The work tasks involve, among other things, the distribution of festival programs and posters at various locations in Copenhagen. Then you are happy to cycle, and if you would like to visit galleries, museums and art galleries throughout Copenhagen, then you must register as a runner.
We are looking for production assistants who will help to prepare Photo City before the festival opens to the public. As a production assistant, you become part of the festival team, and get the opportunity to experience how the preparation of a large festival takes place. The work tasks will vary and can be anything from painting, hanging up signs, making tickets and photo books ready for sale as well as easier cleaning.
We are looking for smiling and outgoing volunteers for our info center and exhibitions in Photo City. As a volunteer at the info center, you will welcome the audience, sell tickets and photo books, hand out questionnaires and inform the visitors about the festival and the year's exhibitions.
As an exhibition assistant, you will also sit in connection with one of our exhibitions and guide the audience if they need it. It will be your responsibility to guide the visitors in the right direction, inform about the year's exhibitions and answer practical questions.
We expect you as an exhibition assistant to be willing to acquire general knowledge of the festival and the year's exhibitions within your watch.
As a volunteer at Copenhagen Photo Festival 2019 you get:
