The Grandchildren's food workshop is fun and healthy food courses for children and grandparents. The purpose of the courses is to strengthen the community between generations and to inspire three generations of Danes to eat healthier. The courses are organized locally by the Heart Association's voluntary coordinators, and we are present in 25 municipalities. We are currently looking for coordinators who can spread the food workshops to Kolding Municipality.

As a volunteer coordinator, you gain experience with:

  • Project planning and project management
  • Health promotion activities
  • Press work
  • Development of communities across generations
  • To join a larger national network of volunteers

What does the task entail?

As coordinator it is you who arranges a food workshop in your area. You will join a team with a professionally trained teacher who is responsible for the actual teaching at the courses. Your tasks are primarily:

  • To participate in a common education and networking day for all volunteers and teachers
  • To make contact with a teacher and course rooms
  • To make the food workshop visible through eg social media and the local press
  • To sign up for entries from the course participants (there is room for 16 participants in one team)
  • To be present at all four courses as the Heart Society's face outside
  • Settling with the head office after the food workshop is over
  • To cooperate with the local association

You and your teacher are also welcome to give your food workshop a profile - do you want to focus on ecology? Madfællesskaber? Children from low-income families? Food waste? We are happy to help with ideas!

What do you expect from the Heart Association?

As a volunteer in the Heart Society, you become part of a strong and visible community with other enthusiasts in the volunteer field. It is therefore expected that you are committed, collaborative and responsible. We also expect you to be reliable and loyal to the work of the Heart Association.
